What disappointed me

I think I paid about $45 out the door with a 50% discount. The Papaya Fumes was pretty hash, but it wasn’t particularly greasy, and I wasn’t happy with how it burned. The heads looked unripe to me.

I left the jar at room temperature for almost two hours and it stayed quite stable. When pressed, it remained more layered and opaque than the PUA and Wooksauce flags. At the same temperature in the slurper, those two gave me a much cleaner burn.

That doesn’t tell me what caused the difference. I wasn’t controlling cultivar, amount, handling, or production. It does describe why I preferred the other jars I was using.

Enjoyed it. Wouldn’t repeat it.

I said in my follow-up that I was enjoying the 710. I still wouldn’t buy it again. A jar can be fine to work through without earning another purchase, even at a substantial discount.

This isn’t a verdict on every 710 product, or proof that freeze-drying was the problem. The Wooksauce in the same comparison was freeze-dried too, and I loved that one. My reservation is about this Papaya Fumes jar and how it performed for me.

OUTSIDE READING · NOT MY TASTING NOTES

A little more context

Other people have been happier with similarly named 710 water hash. In one Florida discussion, u/Impressive-Youth-466 specifically praises the water-hash taste. In another, u/restlessbee says they liked the Papaya Fumez H2O but preferred two other products. Those are brief reactions to other jars, not matching-batch tests, but they deserve a place alongside my disappointment. [F01] [F02]

Both threads spend plenty of time on flower. The longer candy-and-fruit descriptions in one, and the cardboard-smell complaint in the other, shouldn’t become water-hash tasting notes. I’ve kept only the comments that explicitly identify water hash. [F01] [F02]

I’m also keeping “Papaya Fumes” as written in my original note. Outside sources use “Fumez”; that spelling overlap doesn’t establish the phenotype or batch. Nothing in those comments changes what happened in my own comparison.

The jar weight wasn’t recorded, so there’s no price-per-gram calculation here. My comments about the heads and burn are subjective observations, not testing for maturity, contamination, purity, or safety.

  • [F01] Papaya Fumezu/OkCaptain590; water-hash comment u/Impressive-Youth-466 · 2026-10-04

710 thread with a specific water-hash comment; cultivar spelling, state, phenotype and batch not matched.

Only this brief comment is water-hash evidence. Main review’s candy, bubblegum, smoothness and effect details are flower-context and cannot be imported. Papaya Fumes versus Fumez unresolved spelling; no pheno, state/batch match or drying evidence. Thread is in Florida; not proof of m0nty’s jar identity.

  • [F02] Is papaya fumez worth a 1.5 hour drive?u/Exact_Supermarket208; water-hash comment u/restlessbee · 2026-10-06

710 thread with a specific H2O comment; a qualified positive reaction, not the same batch.

Qualified rather than universal praise; comparison mixes product formats. No support for m0nty’s poor-burn or unripe-head observations, and no contradiction of his experience. No travel, purchasing or comparison recommendations retained.

Outside reading checked in October 2026. Individual reviews are anecdotal; neither a shared strain name nor a shared producer proves a matching batch. No outside photography is reused.
